This fine Vienna Regulator is built in solid Walnut.
The cabinet has bevelled glass to the side, top and bottom to give an unrestricted view of the movement in action and the Special pendulum.
The Chown is fitted with the Kieninger RS 001 Westminster 8-day movement. There are separate cable drums for the hour striking mechanism and the Westminster chimes.
The RS 001 movement has a lever situated on the left side of the dial - using this lever you can select Silent, Night Silent (between 10PM and 07-30 AM) or Continuous. There is a second lever situate d on the right side of the dial and this allows you silence the Westminster chimes.
The Chown has a 240mm diameter Vienna white dial with a subsidiary seconds dial and it is completed with a polished brass rim.
The motion of the movement is controlled by a Special Kieninger pendulum that is constructed of carbon fibre; this material is virtually unaffected by temperature changes so provides an opportunity to get very accurate time-keeping. The pendulum bob is in solid brass and of a modern style, there is a fine tuning nut below the bob.
The RS 001 runs for eight-days between winding, has a Graham dead beat escapement to pulse the pendulum and a Harrison maintaining power reserve to keep the movement running smoothly during the re-winding process.
