New Model - Westminster, Whittington & St. Michael chimes on the quarters and hour striking.
New Model - The tourbillon:
In the year 1801 A. L Breguet patented the tourbillon which helped improving the accuracy of watches, as it compensates inaccuracies of the centre of gravity in the swinging system of the balance wheel.
Today the tourbillon in its complexity and demands concerning technical design and production precision is also used for presenting and high-lighting the art of clock making. Above all it looks very attractive and it is a real eye-catcher.
The tourbillon consists of the entire escapement assembly group including the swinging system of the balance wheel. These are located in a rotating frame, which is driven by the time train. So most of the important parts needed for the movement’s precision are rotating
once a minute which compensates run time inaccuracies.
The Kieninger tourbillon with its pointed design is rotating once a minute which allows it to serve as second indication as well.
Kieninger tourbillon 4/4 with Federzugumschaltwerk Echapement (9 jewels), front lift, 3 melodies (Westminster, St. Michael & Whittington) on 8-rod gong, second hand & permanent night time shut-off between 7.15 und 22.00 clock
