Each of the Clock Plans illustrated on this page is accompanied by a list of compatible Movement, Dial and Pendulum Sets.
The level of skill required to build a clock cabinet will vary according to the complexity of the design and you may need to make adjustments to some plan dimensions in order to fit the selected movement and dial. Building a clock provides great satisfaction and can also provide very therapeutic benefits.
You will find the clock plan on the Options and Prices page of the selected Set.
When you have chosen a clock design, please click on the link and you will be presented with a Gallery of compatible Movement, Dial and Pendulum sets.
Please note that we do not sell plans separately but if you wish to build the clock cabinet prior to purchasing the working parts you can order any of the Kieninger Movement Sets with a deposit, we will then send you the Cabinet Construction Plans together with the corresponding Kieninger movement dimensioned drawing.
Finally, Frank will always provide telephone or e-mail support, to assist you when you are installing and commissioning your movement etc.

Plan 014 -- Seth Thomas No. 2 Regulator
Enlarge | This Seth Thomas clock design was modelled after the original Seth Thomas Office No. 2 Regulator from the mid 1870´s. The dial ring can be made with either a lathe or with a plunge router with a series of set ups which we describe in the instruction booklet. Plan 016 -- Vienna Regulator
Plan 017 -- Laterndlur style Vienna Regulator for 116cm movements

This plan is for experienced case builders as it only provides dimensions and a few sections.
To use pendulums with shorter lengths, the builder will need to reduce the height of the case and then re-calculate all other sizes in proportion to the new height.

Plan 024 -- Vienna Regulator

Plans consist of two sheets measuring 36 inches x 28 inches and with most parts drawn full size.
There is also a booklet "Assembly Instructions" that assist in the construction of this regulator.
Please select a 180mm diameter dial as this will fit neatly in the Regulator doors arch.
Frank recommends that you study the Kieninger movement drawing and identify if any dimensional alterations will be required to accommodate the selected Kieninger movement set.
We also provide a full size drawing that can be used to accurately position and drill the fixing holes for the movement mounting bracket and the gongs.

Plan 044 -- Vienna Regulator

The plans comprise of nine sheets measuring 18 inches x 24 inches and twelve A4 pages on assembly and woodworking instructions.
We recommend that a 180mm diameter dial is selected for this clock.
The mouldings can all be produced using standard router bits.
This is one of the best plans that we have so far sourced!
Additionally, we provide a full size template to ensure the accurate location of the movement mounting bracket. (Kieninger movement installation drawing included).

Plan 025 -- Grand Daughter Clock

This design is based on a clock by Thomas Claggett, Newport, USA circa 1725/1750.
The plan consist of only two sheets.
Sheet one is an outline drawing showing only the principal dimensions so a builder will need to decide how to size all panels and jointing methods but we think biscuit jointing would be perfect.
Sheet two shows all sections and mouldings with dimensions.
We have a Kieninger Dial that fits the RWS movement; it is 200mm square with a moon arch 75mm radius at that top making the total heath 275mm. The original dial door will need to be modified to accommodate this dial.
As the cabinet is very narrow, please order pendulum 083 and we will supply a carbon fibre pendulum shaft with a brass cylindrical bob.
